You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher). By creating an account you confirm this is true. We lock accounts we believe belong to minors.
Some places require a level of age verification we don't currently offer, so we block access from those locations based on your internet (IP) address. You may not use a VPN, proxy or any other method to hide your location or get around this block. Doing so is a breach of these Terms and will get your account locked.
At sign-up we ask for your date of birth and your age, and they must match. If a birthdate under 18 is entered, sign-up is blocked from that browser and connection for 24 hours. After a random number of chats we ask you to re-enter your date of birth before your next chat. If it doesn't match the one you gave at sign-up, your account is locked.
Your account is a username and password only. We do not collect your email or phone number, so we cannot recover or reset a lost password. You are responsible for keeping it safe. One account per person.
Breaking these rules results in your account being locked, without refund of any purchased kudos. Content involving the sexual exploitation of children is reported to the appropriate authorities.
To keep the community safe, while you are on the chat page a still image from your own camera is captured every few minutes and sent to our moderators. Users can also report a chat partner, which sends us a still from that partner's video. Moderators review these images and may lock accounts that break the rules.
Live video and audio between you and your chat partner travel directly between your devices (peer-to-peer) and are not recorded or stored by us. Text messages are also sent directly and are not stored.
Kudos are a way to say thanks after a good conversation. Each user receives a number of free kudos to give each day. We may offer additional kudos for purchase. Kudos have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are non-transferable except by giving them to another user in a chat. [Add purchase, refund and consumer-law terms before selling kudos.]
What we collect: your username, a salted hash of your password, your date of birth, the approximate location (state or country) you sign up and log in from, the number of kudos you've given and received, moderation snapshots of your camera, reports you make or receive, and basic connection records (when chats start and end, and who they were with). Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address to deliver the service.
Peer-to-peer connections: to connect a video call directly, your device and your chat partner's device exchange network addresses, which may include your IP address.
Retention: moderation snapshots are deleted automatically after [48 hours], except where an account has been locked, in which case related evidence may be kept as long as needed for safety and legal purposes. [Add retention periods for other data.]
